No one really actually seems to know what happens after de ath. Is this life it? Some believe that nothing happens after de ath and our bodies simply decompose. Others believe that there’s got to be more to life than that. Maybe we get reincarnated or maybe we go to heaven. No matter what it is that you believe, a California scientist has made the claim that life after dea th is actually impossible.
The scientist seems to have a good reason to believe he has an answer for the phenomenon that has made centuries of scientists and spirituals wonder. This is what he had to say.
How do we define de ath? Scientifically, the moment of de ath is when the electrical activity in their brain stops. De ath is when a person has suffered irreversible damage to their circulatory and respiratory functions and their brain is dead. At that point, life is simply over. Irreversible and irreparable damage to the heart and lungs will quickly and inevitably lead to entire brain d eath.
From a biological perspective, the moment we d ie, and our brain is declared dead, any form of consciousness and life simply stops and leaves our bodies. That’s it. Nothing happens after that.
Not everyone believes that life actually stops with the human body’s de ath. On a spiritual level, many believe that there is life beyond depending on how the life here was lived. For instance, the idea of heaven and hell says that how we spend our eternal life and the amount of good we do versus evil paves the way to heaven.
Or, others believe that the soul or spirit, after biological dea th, begins a new life in a new body. Depending on the moral quality of our previous life’s actions, our spirit could be transferred to another human body, an animal, or spirit in a process of reincarnation.
Many who have faced d eath, and been declared medically dead for a moment, came back to speak on this. For example, a woman named Emi temporarily d ied during complications in surgery. Her heart actually completely stopped beating for a moment. When she came back she believed to have spent “a lifetime” in what she believed was the afterlife. She described it to local media, as flying through the universe and gaining an understanding of how everything in the cosmos is connected.
Similar stories have been reported with people who are alive but believe to their core to have connected with loved ones who passed on through their spirit or other supernatural means. Unfortunately, none of these theories have been scientifically proven yet.
Scientist Says Life After D eath Is Impossible
Despite the strong belief that the human mind is too limited to truly grasp the concept of life after de ath and that the means that prove it are beyond science, California-based scientist, cosmologist, and physics professor Sean Carroll has claimed that life after de ath is literally impossible.
The scientist has been studying the laws of physics extensively and believes that the believes the debate surrounding the afterlife should be put to rest” “the laws of physics underlying everyday life are completely understood and everything happens within the realms of possibility.”
According to the scientist for life after d eath to be possible, the human consciousness would be to completely separate from the physical body. However, the scientist does not find this possible. Rather he believes that consciousness at the very basic level is a series of atoms and electrons that make the being of our mind and d ies with the brain. The laws of the universe do not allow the particles of the consciousness to work once the body shuts down.
Dr Carroll explains: “claims that some form of consciousness persists after our bodies di e and decay into their constituent atoms face one huge, insuperable obstacle: the laws of physics underlying everyday life are completely understood, and there’s no way within those laws to allow for the information stored in our brains to persist after we d ie.”
